I’m chequered light and shade, play of rays
Transparent, subtly visible and weightless.
I’m a gentle print of sunshine on the staircase,
Belonging to a myriad of celestial beings.
I’m an echo of summer time and warmth,
Gliding as smoothly as silk down the facets.
I’ve engulfed the image of the sunrise
And keep it dearly in my fragile radiance.
